Oven cleaning questions, answered

Everything Bromley customers usually ask before booking. Can't see your question? Ask us.

How long does oven cleaning take?

It depends on the appliance and its condition. A single oven is the quickest job; double ovens, range cookers and AGAs take longer. Most cleans take 1–4 hours, depending on the oven and how much needs cleaning off, and we'll tell you when you book.

What do I need to do before you arrive?

Switch the oven off well in advance so it's completely cold (for an AGA, usually the evening before), empty anything stored inside, and clear a little space around it.

Do you use caustic chemicals?

No. We use our own proprietary soap-based cleaning solution, which is non-caustic and biodegradable. Removable parts are cleaned in a heated tank in our van, so the dip tank stays outside your home.

Can I use the oven straight after the clean?

Yes, the oven can be used immediately. Our cleaning products are soap-based and non-caustic. A faint smell for the first use is normal and soon goes.

Do you clean the glass between the door panes?

Yes, where the door is designed to come apart. Some doors are sealed units — we'll let you know if yours is.

Can you clean self-cleaning or pyrolytic ovens?

Yes. Pyrolytic cycles don't clean seals, racks or the glass between panes, so a manual clean still helps. Catalytic liners need gentler treatment and shouldn't be scrubbed.

Which areas do you cover?

The whole London Borough of Bromley: BR1–BR7, Swanley (BR8), Biggin Hill (TN16) and Penge/Anerley (SE20). Eagle Eye also covers wider South London, Surrey, Kent, Essex and East London.

Do you clean range cookers and AGAs?
Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes, a money-back guarantee: if you're not completely satisfied with the job we've done, you don't pay.

Do you work with landlords and letting agents in Bromley?

Yes. End-of-tenancy oven cleans are a regular job for us, for landlords, tenants and letting agents. We can work with letting agents and landlords; get in touch to arrange access and invoicing.

How do I pay?

Payment is taken on the day, once the job is done, by cash or bank transfer. Credit cards are not currently accepted.

Are there any extra charges?

No hidden extras: the quote you're given is the price you pay. The only exception is parking or congestion charges, if applicable, which are paid by the customer.

How often should I have my oven cleaned?

It depends on how much you cook. Many households book once or twice a year; heavy users and families often book more often. If the oven smokes when preheating or you can't see through the door glass, it's due.
