Metal filters vs charcoal filters
Most hoods have metal grease filters that can be cleaned again and again. Recirculating hoods also have charcoal (carbon) filters behind them, which absorb odours and can't be cleaned — they need replacing, usually every few months depending on use. We'll tell you if yours look due and which part number to order.
Why it's worth doing with the oven and hob
Fat from the hob rises straight into the extractor. Cleaning the hob, extractor and oven in one visit means the whole cooking area is reset at once, and it's usually better value than separate bookings.
